Sooner or later, having played enough with garbage bags, wanting to protect things from moisture, a tourist buys a watertight bag. There are a lot of hermetic bags in stores. I started with the cheapest Ali Express noname backpack containers. And this summer I got acquainted with Osprey models of dry bags.
Osprey hermetic bags appeared in stores in the spring of 2015. Now some information before you will decide to make a purchase.
Siliconized nylon with a thread thickness of 40 Deniers and a double RipStop reinforcement is used as the primary material in Osprey hermetic bags. This initial combination provides high strength, the important indicators of water resistance and low weight: 48 grams for a 20-litre pack. A bag of the same volume of polyester with polyurethane impregnation will weigh about 80 grams.
Reliable and lightweight hardware brand YKK is another plus in favour of Osprey.
At this point, the reasons for boasting with the rest of the manufacturer’s end. However, Osprey has two more arguments left.
To facilitate the actions with the bag, in its lower part, the Ottomans thought up a small loop of slings. Now you can pull out a packed inverted bag from a backpack in a second, like things from a stuffed pressure bag.
All Osprey hermetic bags have a rectangular section with rounded corners. This solution allows more efficient use of space in the backpack, as there is less free space between the bags and between the container and the pack.
Available volumes: 3, 6, 12, 20 and 30 litres.
Price: depending on the volume.
BTW, according to this video, it’s not perfectly suited for kayaking. I.e. it’s not really hardcore dry sack for watersports. Be aware and filter marketing information well.
